The whole natural rice grain, with only the inedible outer husk removed: the nutrient rice bran layers and germ are left intact.

It has a nuttier and stronger flavour and is more nutritious than white rice.

Compare this to rice grown in a paddy field that requires about 1550L of water to grow 1kg of rice.

To cook,

Option One:

place 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of liquid, cover with lid, bring to the boil then simmer for 30-40mins


Option Two: absorption method

place 200g (1 cup) in a saucepan with 375ml water and bring to the boil. reduce the heat and simmer, covered for 25-30 minutes or until the water has evaporated. remove from the heat, keep covered and set aside for 5 minutes.
